Are you living in lack or living in wholeness?

I often hear people questioning why it is that what they are intending to create has not manifested. Normally, if you find yourself asking such a question, there are only a few reasons. The first is that you’re feeling separate from your creation, and if you’re feeling separate from it, you’re living in lack. This means you’re feeling and living from emotions that are not based in wholeness or gratitude, such as fear, anger, frustration, and so on.

The second reason is that the very hormones that cause these negative emotions actually enhance our senses. As a result, we narrow our focus on matter, objects, and things. Because where we place our attention is where we place our energy, all of our energy is now invested in our three-dimensional reality, only further reinforcing the idea that if we can’t see our creation—if we can’t see our wealth, health, success, and so on—it doesn’t exist. If you believe this, then you are separate from it and now it will never happen because you’ve ceased creating. Instead, you’re creating the opposite of what you’re intending. You may have the intention in your mind, but your body is actually on a different agenda because it’s living in the past. That’s because thoughts are the currency of the brain and feelings are the currency of the body—and how you think and how you feel is your state of being.

This is why it’s so important to do the work every day—to consistently condition your body to the emotion of that future experience or creation. When you successfully do this enough times, you won’t feel separate from your creation and you won’t feel lack. You’ll feel like you’re already connected to it, and this in turn creates more feelings of wholeness. If you understand that you are whole—and that in the state of wholeness the thought of your creation brings it closer to you—then rather than thinking of your creation as something separate from you, it already is a part of you. This is how you begin to create outcomes in your life.

But if the thought of whatever you want creates the feeling of separation or lack, then you’ll never create it because you’ll always be keeping it apart from you. The outcome of that is a state of being whereby you’re hoping, wishing, forcing, and trying harder, and in this state of being there is no room for the unknown to appear. Why? Because you’re anticipating your creation to come in a way you can predict. Now you’re back to the Newtonian model and out of the quantum model of unpredictability and surprise.

When put in the context of a creation, wholeness is feeling the emotion of your future before it happens. If you’re already feeling the elevated emotions of your future, then you feel like it’s already happened. The outcome then is not a result, a thing, or an action—it’s a state of being.

If there is nothing for which you want, that means you feel like you already have everything you need. This is what draws your creation to you—because thoughts are electric and feelings are magnetic, and how you think and how you feel is what creates the energy of your future. The totality of how you think and how you feel is your state of being. If you practice wholeness as a state of being enough times, it becomes your state of being—and that’s when the magic really starts to happen.

    I’m mesmerized by simplicity and laconic completeness and fullness of the way Dr Dispenza brings the complexity of human brain up…
    It’s overwhelming and astonishing.
    At the same time it’s clear and apprehensive.
    It’s a state of art that takes you to a state of of art condition of your brain.

    Thx! I needed this reminder one extra time. I have been to 3 workshops of you, Joe, listened to various other inspirational people, thinking I was doing the right thing, but not getting the right thing in my life, to the point where I am totally broke now … but I understand AND feel where I went wrong …

    I’m wondering if anyone, like me, “thinks and believes” so strongly that, when our desires haven’t manifested yet and we get pulled back into a daily reality of what’s actually around us, that it can be somewhat of a shock to the system to still be where we are. Does that even make sense? As in, I know exactly what I want and can feel it and see it and can LIVE IT in my head, but can get a sensation of being “out of my body” when still living in the same world. Sometimes, seriously, I feel like I’m in a dimension between two worlds.

      Yes Amy I feel that way sometimes. I call it my twilight zone. Lol
      I felt that way yesterday all day and it was driving me crazy. Besides this world we live in is not real as Dr Joe explains it. It’s an illusion, just energy changing all the time.

    Couldn’t have come at a better time. I am currently supporting loved ones through a very difficult health crises and have been aware of the need to hunker down into meditating and more and more becoming the observer of myself, gaining insight into my own evolving wholeness. I have been struggling to connect with higher emotions but am beginning to be aware of my thinking patterns which hold me back and now I am beginning to move forward in an observing awareness. Practice, practice , practice. To be fair although I have felt alone in this situation, I have been also practicing Heart meditation often with the intent of bringing peace and harmony here and our environment has moved from chaos to peace .

      Jan, If you go to utube and listen to the audio book The power of now by Eckhart Tolle or you can read his book he teaches everything about how your thoughts are connected to your feelings. Eckhart and Dr Joe are the most enlightened beings that teach with such gentleness and I am so greatful to have them in my life.

    Dr. Joe and fellow practitioners, I enjoy these teachings and reminders very much. I’ve accessed and studied the Intensive and the Progressive workshops online. They each contain multiple guided meditations and I get confused which will work best for daily meditation. Not only that, but I have multiple states of being that I want to achieve. How specific should these intentions be? And, where do I start with the meditations? Should I focus on one type of meditation and one state of being until that manifests, then move to another? I appreciate any insights that others have to offer. Thanks.

      Hi Jan, I’ve attended live Progressive workshop in May last year. I practiced all meditations in the sequence Dr Joe gives them throughout the workshop, one meditation per day. Also I bought Morning and Evening meditations from his website. You could use those meditations to establish daily routine (or habit) which, from my experience, is the hardest part of all work. I also have multiple states to practice and I’ve found it difficult to practice multiple states in one meditation, so I am practicing one state in one meditation depending on my filling for any particular day. Positive changes in live became noticeable after three months of meditation.

    Thanks Dr Joe for this reminder. I have problems though feeling those feelings of already having what I want. I do the work and even then I have trouble in my meditations getting to those elevated states of emotion. But for the rest of the day, I really do feel the state of lack of what I dont have and not the fullness of already being there. Just bought your book though and hopefully this will give me more tips. Also will book for the week long in October in Oz. Lots and lots of gratitude for your work!!

    Henrietta (Germany) I haave been on a 3 weeks vacation in Portugal and done my daily meditation-I could feel beeing so closed ( or beeing in the quantenfield) but since 1 week I am back in Germany – practicing meditation just like in Portugal and my brain doesn/t stop making up its own story – makes me frustrated – just came back from a long walk i the woods to clear my brain and I found all your comments-thanks so much …. Im working as a cranial therapist and homeopath on my own….so hopefully I will make it to the state of “F” one day…..and thanks again to Dr. Joe

    Thank you for your wonderful teachings. Last July I was diagnosed with a very serious illness and not only have I read your latest book, but I am diligently doing Healing of the Energy Centres (1) and Tuning into New Potentials daily. In addition I do the Heart meditation 2-3 times a day. I am deeply grateful to you.

    Thanks Dr. Joe. I have been following your teachings since a while now. I am trying to generate abundance as a moment to moment state of being. Doing my best to check my abundance not with my senses, but as a state of being, then and only then I will be able of generating abundance and therefore, the universe will reflect it back to me as a feedback, which can be confirmed by our senses finally.

    Hi Guys,
    I may sound like a nut but I still have a problem to grasp how to send my intentions in my meditations. If we want to matrialize something we have to do the work regulrly, do not we? How to mediatate on my intentions but not focus on my desires too much at the same time as apparently what Dr Dispenza says:……………(if) you’re hoping, wishing, forcing, and trying harder, and in this state of being there is no room for the unknown to appear. Why? Because you’re anticipating your creation to come in a way you can predict………..

    I have an impression I must be doing something wrong when mediatating. Maybe my intentions are to specific and they should be more general to give me some room for the unknown. But during the mediations Dr Joe says: feel how you will look, how you will behave, what decisions you would make, etc…. I am really confused.
    Could anyone exlain that to me, please?

      Quite simply, you are thinking that you cannot get beyond “doing something wrong when meditating.” If you sit down to meditate and continually have these thoughts that it’s not working right, as Dr. Joe says: “you’ll never create it because you are always keeping it apart from you.” My advice to you is… right now, at this exact moment while reading these words, feel like you just… “got it”. Now pause for a second, then notice if you immediately tried to say to yourself, “no I didn’t, that would’ve been too easy.” There you go…you just got what you were expecting because you are used to repeating and expecting this over and over again. But here’s the cool part, you now know that your old self is currently programmed to keep you in that thought. But the even cooler part is that your new self can be reprogrammed by consistent conditioning so you will eventually get to the point where you feel that you “got it”. The key is to realize this is like learning to ride a bike, or playing a piano…It takes time, effort, practice, and the constant acceptance that you “got it” in order to get anywhere. Would you want to have intentions of learning the piano is too hard to try so why bother, or the intentions of really feeling the joy and satisfaction of knowing that you learned to play Fur Elise by Beethoven? By practicing (aka: meditating) everyday, you will soon be able to sit down and play this song for your friends or family. If you are practicing/meditating enough times by consistent conditioning, you will reach that moment where you can see their faces light up and mouths drop open in awe as they are totally amazed to see you really can play this beautiful music. And that’s it… If you could visualize and feel… even for a split second… the joy of this future moment I just described, you are on the right path to seeing more magic starting to happen!

    @ Amy Erickson : Don’t ask yourself too many questions, just make your meditation moments a regular daily practice, all benefits will follow spontaneously, you’ll be more aware and maybe you will find yourself the answers to your questions
