• Life: The Great Initiation

Life – The Great Initiation

One way we can look at life is that it’s a series of events designed to challenge us to make decisions and choices. In this regard, we could say life is an initiation or a test. To pass an initiation is to take what you have learned (philosophy, theory, knowledge, and information) and apply it towards an event or decision. If done correctly, this should provide us with a new experience that’s different than the routine life we live.

New experiences arise when our behavior matches our intentions, when our actions are equal to our thoughts, and when our mind and body are working as one. The experience then further enriches the intellectual circuits created from acquiring knowledge. As the application of knowledge begins to make more connections in our brain, the upgraded circuitry signals another part of the brain to make a chemical—the end product of which is called an emotion or feeling. Because experiences we embrace in the environment lead to emotions that create chemical signals which affect our genes, the moment we consciously embody the emotion of the experience we change our genetic destiny by selecting and instructing new gene expressions. The repetition of this over time allows us to neurochemically condition our mind and body to work as one—in other words, when you’ve done something so many times that your body now knows how to do it as well as your mind, it becomes innate, effortless, and second nature. Now you’ve become the knowledge, which is to say you’ve created a new state of being that you don’t have to consciously think about.

Staying Conscious During Life’s Initiations

At our week-long workshops, we give our students the tools to stay conscious and aware when moving through life’s challenges, rather than letting unconscious programs determine the outcomes. In doing so, we have created challenge activities where our students have to make a choice to either apply the philosophy they’ve learned and are developing into a skill (and take it to the next level) or be gripped by old familiar emotions such as fear, anxiety, suffering, self-doubt, frustration, or judgement. This gives our students the opportunity to make a different choice with the tools we’ve taught them, as well as to remind them that when they do make different choices, they are stepping into the unknown. When our students develop the skill set to create brain and heart coherence while being confronted by those challenges (instead of sitting in a room with their eyes closed in mediation while listening to soft music play), that’s when we start to see the biggest changes.

Most people live by an unconscious program whereby the moment they say some person, thing, or experience is making them feel or think in some way, what they are essentially saying is that something outside of them is controlling the way they think and feel. This is a victim mentality, but if you believe that the way you think and feel can change your life, then you would not be a victim—you would look at your life as a test—and in rising to that challenge or test, you’d no longer think or react in predictable ways. Instead you would take on the challenge to be greater than your body, greater than your environment, greater than time, and greater than old emotions and habits that have ruled your life for so long. This is how the student becomes the master.

As a student of life, our job is to go from philosopher to initiate to master; from mind to body to soul; from knowledge to experience to wisdom; from thinking to doing to being; and from learning with your head, applying it with your hands, and knowing it by heart. The good news is we have all the biological and neurological machinery to do this.

So why do initiations exist? Initiations exist to challenge us to move out of our programs into something more instrumental for our own evolution. This is how we evolve.

Thank you Dr. Joe I have found your book (breaking the habit) during turbulent time in my life, after that I read the first book and have done the workshops prior to the event I am planning to attend in Oregon in July 2019. I have yet to master the breath and ability to become no one no thing no time, but even though I am very new to the proper meditation and am struggling with trying not to be logical and analytical during the meditation, I have noticed changes in my thinking and behavior, your teaching have changed the lives of many around me through changes in my mental state. Thank you for all!

I am truly looking forward to Oregon event with hopes to remember how to be creative. Something very unusual happened to me I have been daily blindly creating (elevated emotion and truly believing I was in that future while I was praying) an outcome for my family for 16 years and when it became, I have lost that drive of creativity. I have achieved my life’s goal for the past 16 years and somehow my reaction to the adaptation of my family became extremely negative, making me unhappy during the time when I should have been the happiest. And then I saw your book and you saved me! Every day is a new day and thanks to you I enjoy and most of the days have the love for life, every day I understand a little more of the meaning of your words. So many opportunities have happened to me after I started on the path of crossing the river, everything that happens to me is part of my make up, but I still need to get out of my own way to achieve what we truly are. Thank you Dr. Joe!

I concur, even in the meditation done in a place where there is no outside challenge, we can expand the envolope by extending our breath, for instance, yesterday during the placebo meditation after the first breath most of the breaths in were a count of 25 ( I use my heart beat as my counter ) and a count of 50 out. To day ( just finished it a few minutes ago ( it’s now 02:17 CT) after the first breath the intake was for each breath was a count of 30 & the exhale was a count of 60 . And these breaths were easier than the 25 in counts were yesterday.

I look forward to the day I attend a live workshop with you & I thank you for what you are doing and the opportunity you bring . Very interested in the data you are compiling regarding norm and standard deviations, also the surges of energy up through the spinal colum and the heart ❤️ into the brain 🧠. I would be tickled to be even 3 standard deviations above norm, 10 would be incredible & the idea of 200, 300, 400 & even 500 SDN astronomical . Definitely life changing. Very excited about what you are doing and want very much to be a part of it . Have you heard of monatomic gold ( white powdered gold) and the possibilities contained there in?

This is the most valuable advice anyone could ever take. If I had known this wisdom 50 years ago, my life would have been much more fulfilled. I’m learning now and trying my best.

Thanks for this. I’m initiate right now. When a Master falls, it’s a lot harder to get back to that level. Hope none of you ever have to go that route, it isn’t easy. But the hard work pays off in the end, at least I think it will. Good luck to all you geniuses who keep at it. May your garden grow and be abundant.

I had the opportunity to experience one of these challenges in Toronto in September. I repelled down a 40 story building! To say it scared me is an understatement.

I’ve never been fond of heights in fact I love the feeling in my stomach when riding roller coasters but I ride them with my eyes closed😂 because of the heights.

I believed I was prepared and ready for this opportunity however the moment I stepped out on deck I went into panic mode.

My instructor Chris was amazing with me. He slowly explained the procedure and miraculously got me to the edge. When he said “Now step off” I was frozen with fear. There were a myriad of voices in my head telling me not to do it. I confess the meditation I had done in preparation for this was nowhere to be heard.

There was a quieter voice telling me that I was not a quitter..that I could do this. And I did. I stepped off the edge and began my descent. By the third click of the lever I heard “You’ve got this” “This is a piece of cake”.

I was ecstatic. The pride and joy I experienced was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.

When I finally reached the ground, I was embraced and congratulated. My heart was exploding with joy and pride.

Now when Dr Joe asks me to bring up an emotion, this is where I go. I bring up these humungous emotions and remember “If I can do this, then I can do ANYTHING”

Thank you Dr. Joe and team for helping me change my life forever🤩😍🤩

Hi, Dr. Joe, reporting on an “initiation experience” of my own……just signed up for and produced my first Mind Movie. I’m ecstatic about it, to be frank. It’s truly a “secret weapon” for change! Their web site is geared to young people mostly, (I’m 79!) but they have huge flexibility to change everything to suit personal needs. I made one with my own affirmations completely with the wonderful Cusco music from 1984 called “Inca Bridges”, which is such a driving melody…it just says “get off your butt, get out of your own way and things will happen”! It’s $97 but worth every penny. Heard about it from your book BECOMING SUPERNATURAL.

Hello, has anyone experienced changes in kids with special needs using this work? My 9 year old daughter is a beautiful being, she has some learning delays and is not real verbal. She also has scoliosis and hip dysplasia in right hip. She has fairly good cognition and understands most things for her age. With Dr Joe’s accident that left him to use this work to heal his spine and pelvis, it seems I should be ale to visualize and feel with intention and emotion her spine becoming straight and her right hip socket forming a nice pocket for the femur. In addition, her brain, if we all are just energy and energy becomes misplaced or disorganized, applying the same method to her brain should bring about organization, coherency and healing. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas that can help me to be most effective in applying this work? Thank you!
